The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of ASTD has members throughout the Central Pennsylvania region representing service, nonprofit, and business organizations. Our members are involved in areas such as:

The association is dedicated to the professional growth of individuals involved in workplace learning and performance and has been in existence in Central PA for over 60 years.


Central PA Chapter of ASTD Mission

The Central PA Chapter of ASTD exists to encourage and contribute to the professional growth and competencies of human resource professionals in the Central PA area.

To fulfill this mission, the chapter provides:

  • Speakers and educational programs at monthly Chapter meetings on topics related to training and development, human resource management, and resources and solutions related to issues and problems;
  • Special workshops and seminars to develop training skills and broaden knowledge of the theory and practice of human resource development;
  • A forum for exchanging ideas, resources, and technologies among colleagues in the field; and


The Chapter is a non-profit educational/professional organization and is dedicated to serving the professional needs of its members, their employing organizations, and the communities in which they are located. The Chapter is one of 156 affiliated with the American Society for Training and Development, which is the largest organization in the United States (representing 50,000 local and national members) dedicated to serving the needs of the human resource development profession.
