As a member of the Central PA ASTD Chapter, membership in all SIGs is automatic. You dont need to pay another fee to "join" a SIG. Attending a SIG program or serving on a SIG committee is open to everyone. Members are encouraged to become involved in as many chapter SIG activities as they would like.
This is a list of Central PA Special Interest Groups:
Red Rose Learning Community SIG
The Red Rose Learning Community was created as a geographic SIG (special interest group) to create networking opportunities for ASTD members living in the Lancaster area.
The group meets for coffee the last Monday of each month at 8 AM. The focus of each meeting is the current issue of the ASTD journal - T&D.
To get on the mailing list, send your name and email address to Rick Stamm
TechNet
TechNets mission is twofold: to establish a forum where those involved in computer skills and technical training, and in technology delivered instruction can share ideas and develop professionally; and, to bring together the trainers most knowledgeable about technology in our market so they can reach out to and help educate other trainers who would like to learn more about learning technologies. At the same time, we hope to expand ASTDs membership to include more computer and technical skills trainers, so they can benefit from
the chapter members and programs who have expertise in platform skills, instructional design, training management, evaluation, etc.
